Brazilian Zouk, or “Zouk” as it is more commonly known, is a fun, dynamic and modern partner dance originating from Brazil.

Zouk is most recognised for its mesmerising fluidity & flowing head movements and can be danced to a variety of musical genres including classical, pop, dubstep, hip hop, R&B and lyrical.

Since its origination in the 1990s, Zouk’s popularity has spread across the globe like wildfire! And now, we’re here to help that spark in you grow into a burning passion. 🙂

Who is this course for?

For dancers who have gotten acquainted with zouk, attended a few Zouk social and feel comfortable with the basic.

In the intermediate course, we build on base moves like basic step, close & open frame, Viradinha, Lateral, simple turn, Yo-Yo, Elástico and Soltinho. During the course we dive deeper into technique of those movements and explore more complex variations of those movements.

If your are not sure whether your zouk experience is enough to follow this course, feel free to ask our opinion. We either confirm, the the course is right fit for you or pinpoint the areas that you should work on before joining this course.

If you are a dance enthusiast who wants to fast-forward your Zouk and go straight to intermediate, we also offer private zouk classes. During private classes we can teach you the fundamentals that we build upon in the intermediate course on your own tempo . Don't hesitate to contact us in case you need more information about it.

You don't need a dance partner, talent or previous dance experience. Just come and join us!

Zouk is a social dance mostly danced in a couple and is based on connection, leading and following. Therefore, we change partners every few minutes during our classes.

There is no specific dress code. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. We suggest shoes that are not too sticky. Your knees will thank you 😃.

Venue:

Beautiful venue with mirrors easily accessible by public transportation or bicycle. In case you are coming with a car the best option is to park on the Single or at Gamma Borgerhout. That's 5/10 min walk from the venue.

Pricing

Price for a full course of 10 classes is 110€. If you register more than 14 days prior to the start of the course, you get a discount of 10€.
